“Your next convention should be in dreamy Boracay” says Maia Israel, President of the Boracay Meetings Incentives Conferences & Exhibitions (MICE) Alliance, an institution formed in 2021 by the Philippines’ Department of tourism to position the island’s potential for bolder MICE opportunities.
“The island paradise is now more than just everyone’s favorite vacation spot. It’s also an ideal place for people to gather and create important business decisions while creating memories at a grander scale” adds Israel.
The island now offers more than 14,700 room keys from across almost 300 hotels with a total event space good for a maximum of 4,500 people. Regarded as one of the “Best Islands of the World” in 2014 by Conde Nast Traveler, Boracay offers its guests stunning beaches, powdery white sand, crystal clear waters, and a breathtaking sunrise and sunset plus a plethora of activities everyone can enjoy.
Taking their objectives to heart, the Boracay MICE Alliance (BMA) rounds up the island’s key leaders, industry buyers, and decision makers for a full day of discourse and networking last April 22, 2023 at the Kingsford Hotel Manila at the Entertainment City. In attendance were Verna Buensuceso, Department of Tourism OIC Undersecretary, Crisanta Marlene “Krisma” Rodriguez, Region 6 Director of the Department of Tourism, Hon. Frolibar Bautista, Municipal Mayor of Malay Aklan, Michelle Taylan, President of the Global Tourism Business Association, Cleofe Albiso, Chairman of BMA and Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts, and the rest of the BMA officers.
An entire afternoon was also dedicated to sellers from across leading accommodation and venue partners like Alta Briza, Astoria Hotels & Resorts, Belmont Hotel Boracay, Discovery Shores Boracay, Four Points by Sheraton Boracay, Henann Group of Resorts, Hue Hotels and Resorts Boracay, Movenpick Resort & Spa Boracay, Paradise Garden Resorts Hotel & Convention Center, Savoy Hotel Boracay, The Lind Boracay, Mandala Spa & Resort Villas. At the same time buyers representing different travel agencies, wholesalers, and corporate partners like the Boracay Adventures Travel & Tours, Purple Diaries Travel and Tours, Shingley Tours, and Southwest Travel & Tours also graced the event.
