Manila, Philippines – Uniqlo parent company, Fast Retailing Co., Ltd. extends its heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the earthquake that struck Mindanao on Monday, June 8.
To assist with recovery efforts, the company will donate JPY 30 million (approx. US$185,000) in monetary aid to the SM Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation, to provide essential supplies to communities affected by the disaster. Partner organizations will use the funds to provide urgent humanitarian assistance based on local needs. Additionally, Fast Retailing will also donate 2,000 items of AIRism clothing to support those impacted.
Separately, UNIQLO Philippines has already undertaken emergency donations of clothing items to support more than 7,000 individuals in the affected area, working closely with the SM Foundation and ABS-CBN Foundation, including new AIRism items and pre-owned clothing donated through the RE.UNIQLO program.
The donations follow a magnitude 7.8 earthquake that devastated parts of the southern Philippines, damaging homes and displacing thousands of people.
Fast Retailing sincerely hopes for the speedy recovery of the affected communities, and that those impacted can return to their daily lives as soon as possible.
