Sunlight Air officially takes to the skies

On December 24, 2020, Sunlight Air officially brought warmth to the skies with its first-ever group to experience its travel bubble package with Sunlight Ecotourism Island Resort (SETIR) and Asia Pacific Travel. Before the inaugural flight, a company launch was held at Sunlight Air’s newly built hangar at the General Aviation Area, Pasay City. The event started with a blessing ceremony of the airline’s ATR72-500 fleet and a ribbon-cutting that was participated by Sunlight Air’s Chairman Ricardo Brito and CEO Ryna Brito, Civil Aeronautics Board Director Atty. Arcilla, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines Examiner Captain Espino, Aircraft Inspector Marie Rachel Gallardo, and DG Inspector Joan Bollalin; followed by a champagne toast, cake slicing, and congratulatory speeches from Atty. Arcilla and Capt. Espino. Sunlight Air CEO, Ryna Brito, then took the stage to express her gratitude to all of its stakeholders who have been a critical part of the airline’s huge milestone and to deliver Sunlight Air’s service commitment before the inaugural flight. “Our entire existence revolves around offering a new concept of airline service through seamless travel experiences,” said Brito.

Flight RPC-6638 MNL – USU, finally took off carrying the first-ever group to experience the travel bubble package. The travel bubble package known as the “Fly, Stay & Dine” package is a 4-days and 3-nights all-inclusive getaway to SETIR. With the travel bubble package, the companies are able to safely take small steps in gradually expediting the recovery of Philippine tourism. The flight was a 1 and a half hour smooth flight to Busuanga and Covid-19 safety protocols were strictly implemented. Upon landing at Francisco B, Reyes Airport, RPC-6638 was welcomed by a water cannon ceremony and passengers were assisted directly to Sunlight Air’s airport lounge where they comfortably waited for their van transfer to the private port going to SETIR.

Sunlight Air, pioneering its flight to Busuanga, plans to connect Filipinos to more destinations this 2021 with targeted destinations such as Siargao, Boracay, Cebu, Panglao, Clark, Camiguin, Dumaguete, and others that are still underserved by the airline industry. Sunlight Air is committed to bringing warmth to the skies by providing a safe and seamless air travel experience with a touch of Filipino hospitality in all facets of its services.
