Okada Manila, a Forbes 5-star destination in the Philippines, has been recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) with the Gawad Antonio Luna Award at the Dugong Bayani Awards 2024. This recognition celebrates Okada Manila’s dedication to saving lives and fostering a culture of voluntary blood donation. Okada Manila continues to assist the government in its drive to provide adequate, safe, affordable, and equitable distribution of blood supply to those in need.

As the only integrated resort in the country to be honored for its contributions to the Non-Remunerated Voluntary Blood Program (NRVBP), Okada Manila has donated between 300 and 599 blood units from January 2020 to December 2023. These efforts are part of the Talent and Community pillar under the Okada Green Heart program, which emphasizes wellness, empowerment, and support for both employees and the community.

Okada Manila further strengthened its commitment to this cause in 2024 by hosting two significant blood donation drives. The first, held in July, garnered 220 successful donors, while the second in October collected 162 blood units. Both events, conducted in partnership with the Philippine Blood Center (PBC), reflected meticulous planning to ensure donor safety and comfort, from medical screenings to post-donation care.

Okada Manila’s combined efforts have resulted in the collection of 800 blood units, highlighting the impact of teamwork and a shared mission of saving lives.
