MANILA, Philippines; March 2026— Tokyo Tokyo has officially opened its 100th store, marking a major milestone for the beloved homegrown Japanese restaurant that has been serving Filipino favorites with a Japanese twist for decades.
Located at 5 Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong, the new branch reflects Tokyo Tokyo’s continued expansion across the Philippines and celebrates the many memories Filipinos have shared over its signature dishes through the years. The milestone highlights the brand’s evolution into a go to dining destination where Japanese flavors meet Filipino tastes.

“This milestone is a meaningful moment for Tokyo Tokyo,” said Ghena Gatchalian Austero, Marketing Director of Tokyo Tokyo. “Opening our 100th store reflects the continued love and support of our customers who have made Tokyo Tokyo part of their everyday moments. As we grow, our focus remains the same, bringing Japanese flavors closer to more Filipinos while creating spaces where people can gather and create new memories.”
The grand opening gathered media partners, influencers, community leaders, and longtime fans of the brand for a celebratory morning. Tokyo Tokyo executives led the ceremonial ribbon cutting, officially welcoming diners to the landmark location.
A Store Designed Around Japinoy Identity.
The 100th store introduces a refreshed design that reflects Tokyo Tokyo’s Japinoy identity. With the creativity of Hong Kong and Manila-based Architectural Designer James JJ Acuna, Tokyo Tokyo reimagined the space by blending the calm elegance of Japanese design with the vibrant warmth that Filipinos love. The result is a store that feels bright, youthful, and modern, yet still wonderfully welcoming.
As guests walk in, they are greeted by an open, airy layout, warm wood tones, and a striking curved red wall that gives the space its character. Cozy lighting, comfortable mixed seating, and blue mural walls featuring patterns inspired by Tokyo Tokyo’s signature ingredients make the dining experience as enjoyable as the food itself.
“Designing this space was about finding the meeting point between two cultures I deeply admire,” said Acuna. “Japanese design teaches us restraint and intentionality, while Filipino culture brings warmth, color, and life. For Tokyo Tokyo’s 100th store, we wanted every corner to feel like a quiet celebration of both. A place where you walk in and immediately feel at home, no matter who you are
Celebrating 100 Memories
Beyond the store opening, the celebration also looked back at Tokyo Tokyo’s journey with Filipinos through the years. Guests shared personal stories about their favorite Tokyo Tokyo moments, from quick meals with friends to family celebrations.
Signature dishes – including the beloved Tempura and the fan-favorite Beef Misono – were also served during the event, reminding guests of the flavors that have made Tokyo Tokyo a staple for generations.
Reaching 100 stores nationwide marks an important chapter for Tokyo Tokyo as it continues to grow while staying true to the Japinoy flavors and experiences that Filipinos know and love.
