Jeep of Hope: Bellevue Community Pantry

Jeep of Hope: Bellevue Community Pantry

Amidst the pandemic, The Bellevue Resort has been continuing its advocacy in promoting sustainability and providing meaningful hospitality service not just to its guests but also to the community.

On March 14, 2021, the five-star resort in Bohol organized a sustainable mobile community pantry — Jeep of Hope in Barangay Doljo, Panglao Island. Fresh vegetables, rice, eggs, facemasks, alcohol disinfectants, and other necessities were provided to the recipients who are most in need during these trying times.

This Jeep of Hope initiative is at the heart of The Bellevue brand and reflects company’s values and commitment to the local communities in which it operates. Gathering as early as 7 o’clock in the morning, employees from The Bellevue Resort Bohol led by the Resort Manager, Mr Doer Escoto together with Miss Universe 2020 – 3rd Runner Up and Ambassador for Tourism, Ms Pauline Amelinckx, were able to pack and distribute 200 packages to 100 indigent families of Barangay Doljo. Each family representative received two care packages filled with organic goods and care kits from Clean Code. While following strict safety protocols, the mobile community pantry would have not been possible without the support of its partners, sponsors, and local farmers.

“We are encouraging those who are able to extend their helping hands to join us and support this Jeep of Hope campaign, in the aim of making this a monthly drive to different communities in Bohol, so together we can collectively make a difference in the lives of many and get through this pandemic together.” – said by Ms. Yumi Ichinomiya-Chan, BH&R Group Business Development Director.

Since its opening in 2013, the luxurious and eco-friendly resort has been consistently spearheading meaningful initiatives — leading responsible tourism in Bohol, in its efforts to highlight the importance of playing an active role in promoting sustainability and helping the community.
